		<description>Yes you can and it goes directly to the Mortgage company so that it can&#039;t be spent on anything else.
I know this, because my mother in law cared for my father in law up until when he died and their payments were always paid direct to the company. Land charges etc had to be paid though by her.
Best bet is to call your local council, ask for the housing benefit dept and get some advice from them.
Or you can try age concern who were a great help to my regarding my grandfather.
